@Intern Terms of Service

Last updated November 4, 2026

These terms are an agreement between [Company legal name] (“Nace AI”, “we”, “us”) and the organization that uses @Intern (“Customer”, “you”). Please read them before adding @Intern to your workspace. A plain summary: @Intern works with the access your people give it, it checks with you before doing something it was not asked to do, you pay for what it uses from a prepaid team balance, and what it produces is yours to review before you rely on it.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of @Intern, including its Slack app, its web workspace, the automations it builds and runs, and any related support (together, the “Service”). By installing @Intern, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you accept them for a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it, and “you” means that organization.

The Service is offered to businesses and their staff for work purposes. It is not intended for consumers or for anyone under 18. If you and we have signed a separate order form or agreement for the Service, that document controls where it conflicts with these terms.

2. What @Intern does

@Intern is an AI agent for teams. People ask it for things in Slack or in its web workspace, the way they would ask a colleague. It can answer questions, carry out one-off tasks, read and edit files, and build automations that run on a schedule or when something happens, using the apps your team connects to it.

We improve the Service continually, so features may be added, changed or removed. If we remove something material that you rely on, we will try to give you reasonable notice. Some features may be available only to some workspaces, or only where an administrator has turned them on.

3. Workspaces and accounts

You use @Intern through a workspace, which is linked to your Slack workspace. People sign in with their Slack identity. Workspace administrators control settings such as who can join, which features are on and how the team balance is funded.

You are responsible for the people you allow into your workspace, for keeping sign-in methods secure, and for activity that happens under your workspace. Please tell us promptly at [support contact email] if you believe an account has been compromised. Information you give us about your organization should be accurate and kept up to date.

4. Connections and access

@Intern acts with each person’s own access. When someone connects an app, such as email, a calendar, a CRM or an accounting tool, @Intern uses that person’s connection, and only within the permissions that app grants. It does not gain access that the person connecting it does not have.

Connections are private to the person who made them unless that person chooses to share one with the whole workspace. Sharing a connection does not reveal that person’s earlier private chats, runs or documents. Logins, keys and other secrets you store with @Intern follow the same rule. You can disconnect an app or stop sharing it at any time; automations that depend on it may then stop working.

You confirm that you and your people are allowed to connect each app and to let @Intern act in it on your behalf, and that doing so does not breach your agreements with that app’s provider or anyone else.

5. Actions, approvals and automations

When you ask @Intern to do something, you authorize it to take the steps reasonably needed to do it in the apps you have connected. Before it sends something on your behalf, spends money, or changes or deletes something in a way you did not ask for, it asks you first and waits for an answer. When you approve an action, that approval is your instruction to carry it out.

An automation is an instruction that keeps working after the conversation ends. When you publish one, you turn it on: it runs on its schedule or trigger, using the connections and settings it was built with, until you change, pause or remove it. Its first check stops before sending anything, so you can see what it will do.

Where the Service lets @Intern make purchases or payments, each one needs an approval, and you are responsible for purchases you approve. Actions taken in other apps, such as a sent message, a placed order or a deleted record, may not be reversible. Please review approvals carefully.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service, or let anyone use it, to:

  • break the law, or infringe or misuse anyone else’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
  • send spam, run deceptive campaigns, or contact people who have not agreed to hear from you where consent is required;
  • access accounts, systems or data you are not authorized to access, or get around another service’s security or limits;
  • create or spread malware, or attack, overload or probe the Service or anyone else’s systems;
  • harass, threaten, defraud or discriminate against anyone, or produce content that sexualizes minors;
  • make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals, such as about credit, employment, housing or insurance, without meaningful human review;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product, except where the law allows this despite these terms;
  • break the usage policies of the model providers or connected apps the Service relies on.

You are responsible for what you and your people ask @Intern to do and for the instructions, rules and automations you give it.

7. Customer Data

“Customer Data” means what you and your people put into the Service or let it reach: messages and requests, files, content from connected apps, rules and memory notes, and the output the Service produces for you. As between you and us, you own Customer Data.

You give us permission to host, copy, process, transmit and display Customer Data as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, to prevent abuse, and as the law requires. Our subprocessors, including the providers in section 9, may process it for the same purposes. You are responsible for having the rights and consents needed to share Customer Data with us.

[Model training: state whether Customer Data is ever used to train or improve models, and confirm the model providers’ terms match.]

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy ([@Intern Privacy Policy, link to be added]). Where we process personal data for you as a processor, [data processing addendum: link or “available on request”] applies. Our security practices are described in the Nace trust center.

We may use aggregated information about how the Service is used, which does not identify you or any person, to run and improve it. After your workspace is closed, we delete or de-identify Customer Data within [retention period], except where we must keep it longer by law.

8. AI output

@Intern uses AI models, and AI can be wrong. Its answers, summaries, drafts, numbers and actions may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and may look confident when they are not. Different customers may receive similar output.

Output is not legal, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice. Review output before you rely on it, and check important actions, especially anything that sends, pays, deletes or reaches people outside your team, before you approve them. You are responsible for the decisions you make using the Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on other companies. These include AI model providers, the infrastructure where @Intern’s work runs, our payment processor, and Slack. The apps you connect are provided by their own vendors under their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to your use of them.

We are not responsible for third-party services, their content or their availability. If a provider changes or withdraws its service, or its terms change, some features of @Intern may change or stop working, and we will try to tell you if that affects you materially.

10. Team balance, fees and billing

Each workspace has one prepaid balance in US dollars, shared by the team. Workspace administrators add money to it through our payment processor. Usage is charged against it as it happens: model calls, the environments where work runs, and paid tools each cost what the provider charges plus our margin. You can see the balance and what has used it in the workspace.

New work starts only while the balance is above zero. When it runs out, new requests and scheduled runs wait until the balance is topped up, and running work stops at its next paid step. Work already under way when the balance runs out is still charged, so the balance can briefly fall below zero; that amount is due and is settled from your next top-up.

Prices are shown in the Service and may change; we will give notice before a change applies to you. Amounts do not include taxes, which you are responsible for except taxes on our income. Unless the law requires otherwise or we agree in writing, money added to the balance is not refundable. [Refund and closed-workspace balance policy: confirm.]

11. Free credit and preview features

We may give a workspace promotional credit. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and may expire or be withdrawn. Features labelled as preview, beta or early access are offered as they are, may change or end at any time, and are excluded from any service commitments we make.

12. Our property and feedback

We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design and the @Intern and Nace names and marks. Apart from the right to use the Service under these terms, these terms do not give you any rights in it.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without restriction or payment to you. Doing so does not give us any rights in your Customer Data.

13. Confidentiality

Each of us may receive non-public information from the other that is marked confidential or that a reasonable person would treat as confidential. The receiving party will use it only for the purposes of these terms, protect it with reasonable care, and share it only with people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. This does not apply to information that is public through no fault of the receiver, that it already had or developed on its own, or that it must disclose by law, after giving notice where allowed.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by turning off your automations and removing @Intern from your Slack workspace, or by asking us to close your workspace.

We may suspend access, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these terms, that your use creates a security, legal or abuse risk, or that the balance is unpaid. Where it is practical and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may end these terms for a material breach that is not fixed within 30 days of notice, or on [notice period] notice for any other reason.

When these terms end, automations stop and access ends. For [export period] afterwards you may ask us for a copy of Customer Data we still hold. Sections that by their nature should continue, including those on payment owed, Customer Data, our property, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes, continue to apply.

15. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that output will be accurate, or that it will suit a particular purpose, and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data, even if it was told they were possible.

Each party’s total liability arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim and [minimum liability amount, e.g. USD 100]. These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, to breaches of the acceptable use section, to either party’s indemnity obligations, or to liability that cannot be limited by law.

17. Indemnity

You will defend us against third-party claims arising from Customer Data, from your or your people’s use of the Service in breach of these terms or the law, or from actions you instructed or approved, and pay the resulting damages and reasonable costs. We will tell you promptly about the claim, let you control its defence, and cooperate reasonably at your expense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault on our behalf without our consent.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising from them will be resolved in [Courts or arbitration venue]. Before starting formal proceedings, each party will first try in good faith to settle the dispute by writing to the other. Either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we will tell workspace administrators at least 30 days before it applies, through the Service, Slack or email. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

20. General

Neither party may assign these terms without the other’s consent, except to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of substantially all of its relevant business. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. You will comply with export control and sanctions laws that apply to your use of the Service.

These terms, with any order form and the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement about the Service. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. Notices to us go to [legal contact email]; notices to you go to your workspace administrators by email or through the Service.
